Applications Development

DR Cloud VPS

For many years, Default Route has been utilizing various forms of virtualization to provide private servers at lower cost to our customers. We have embarked upon the ambitious goal of building a large scale distributed cloud computing environment for the hosting of our managed projects as well as through a public, on-demand offering. At this time, DR Cloud Xen and VMware guests running Windows, Linux or FreeBSD are available in Seattle and New York City. Authoritative DNS

Here at Default Route, we have been building high performance DNS services for over a decade. As our network expands to new points of presence, we will be expanding our authoritative DNS to include these locations. Our current hosts, NS2 and NS4, live in Seattle and New York City, respectively, with NS1 and NS3 living across both sites as part of our anycast advertisement. We will be adding to this mix as our network grows.

Zimbra Hosted E-mail

Default Route is now offering the Zimbra Collaboration Suite, as a hosted, managed service. Whether you are looking to administer your own domain or have us handle the behind the scenes – we can tailor a solution to your needs. Zimbra is, in our opinion, the finest all-in-one productivity suite based on open source software available today. We are providing access to both the network edition – for those who need Outlook-style sync and mobile push mail, as well as the open source edition – for those who primarily need a secure webmail interface with advanced features. All hosted Zimbra services run on our ultra reliable DR Cloud infrastructure.

Hosted Dimdim Meetings and Collaboration

We are offering secured instances of the Dimdim collaboration platform. The community edition of this award winning software is built upon popular open source projects such as red5 and Terracotta. Dimdim is suitable for clients who require a completely private interface for video and audio conferencing, screen sharing, mutual web browsing and other e-meeting features. We can accommodate setups which require public access over https, completely private setups which utilize VPN, or a combination of both.
